Here are some fun and easy activities for Key Stage 1 pupils/children aged 5-7. These activities can be done on their own, or linked to Macmillan events like The Big Sports Day.

How can I stay fit and healthy?

This activity is linked to elements of Personal Social Health Education (Health and Wellbeing/ Personal Development and Mutual Understanding/ PSE) and Physical Education.

Desired learning outcomes:

  • Pupils will be able to recognise and name parts of the body.
  • Pupils will understand how to reduce their chances of getting ill (with particular reference to being healthy and keeping active).

What is a Macmillan nurse?

This activity is linked to elements of Personal Social Health Education (Health and Wellbeing/ Personal Development and Mutual Understanding/ PSE).

Desired learning outcomes:

  • Pupils will make connections and see relationships based on pictorial evidence.
  • Pupils will understand what a Macmillan nurse does.
