In the classroom

CupcakeOne of the best – and simplest – ways to raise money is to link it to activities you are already doing in the classroom. Fundraising fits very neatly within the Citizenship programme but were you aware of all the other ways fundraising could fit in with the curriculum?

  • Why not ask your business studies class to plan the marketing and budget for a disco or school fete?
  • Art students could make and sell cards for religious festivals or Valentine’s day or charge parents and pupils a small amount to visit an exhibition of their work
  • Hold a carol concert – music students could organise, play or sing at the event
  • You could organise a maths challenge – either ask pupils to make a small donation to take part or ask pupils to raise sponsorship for every question they get right
  • English pupils could take part in a sponsored read-a-thon – how many books can your pupils read in a month?
  • Combine healthy eating initiatives, Food Technology and fundraising! Pupils can sell the tasty healthy treats they make at break time.

Get organised with all the tips and tools you need to make your event a success!
