Who does what?

Paint palletteIt’s important to divide up the responsibilities so that one person isn’t left doing all the work!

Why not set up a committee? We suggest that this is run by pupils, with a member of staff involved. Each person can have a specific area or areas of responsibility such as:

  • Booking venues e.g the school hall and any necessary equipment
  • Creating posters to advertise your event
  • Selling tickets to an event or raffle tickets
  • Photocopying and distributing sponsor forms
  • Recruiting volunteers to help on the day
  • Planning the budget for the event - what will it cost to run and how much will it make?
  • Liaising with the Headteacher, catering staff, cleaning staff and any other members of staff who may be affected or involved
  • Recruiting people e.g to run stalls or games at a fete
  • Coordinate any required music or entertainment
  • Someone to chair any committee meetings and a secretary to note any actions from the meetings

Everyone can be involved, whether they are taking part in the day or planning beforehand. It’s a fantastic opportunity for pupils to broaden their skills, work as a team and build relationships with other members of the school community.
