One of the most practical ways you can help people living with cancer is to raise money for Macmillan. We have all the tools and tips you need to hold a successful fundraising event!

Macmillan holds several national events each year, such as Cancertalk Week, The Big Hush and World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – perfect for involving your class or school. Or, organise your own event! Check out our Fundraising zone for loads of ideas and all you need to get organised. You can hold an event in the classroom, out of lessons, or a sports-based event. Not only is it a great opportunity to have fun, but fundraising is easily tied in with learning relevant to the curriculum.

Five reasons for you and your pupils to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support

  • You will be helping people living with cancer
  • We’ve got the fun ideas, great tips and useful tools for you and your students to make any event a success
  • It fits into the Citizenship curriculum, and can be used in other subjects too, such as Art, Physical Education and Business Studies
  • Fundraising events are a fantastic way to get the whole school or class involved – and have fun
  • You can inspire pupils and reinforce what you’ve taught them with our Cancertalk teaching materials.

G-Nation is part of the Citizenship Foundation and is a partnership between charities and the government aiming to develop the culture of giving and the issues of citizenship in the UK. It works in harmony with a schools programme for 11 to 16s, and includes the celebratory G-Week in June. You can fundraise for Macmillan as part of G-Week or at any other time of the year!
